Rivet the Stallion

SOLD. This is a wood burning commission that I did of a gorgeous wild stallion named Rivet. It was done on a piece of live edge willow wood, with the dimensions being roughly 7x18. This piece was very fun to wood burn, and I used a white colored pencil to add his white star on his forehead.

Rivet has an interesting backstory, and he was done as a commission gift to a dear friend named Esther who is actually the one who named him as a colt in 2017! He was found at Copper Pond in Sand Wash Basin. He unfortunately passed away in 2022, to unknown causes. We are all at least thankful that he died as he lived, wild and free in Sand Wash Basin.

Pictured below is Esther with her wood burning of Rivet, and a picture of Rivet as a colt in 2017 with his sire Casper (white stallion).

My wood burnings use reference photos from the incredible photographer and wildlife artist Sonia Reid! Her website can be found at “soniareid.com”.
